Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes the policies and procedures of DouyinFetch ("we", "our", or "the Extension") regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our browser extension.
Zero Data Collection Policy
DouyinFetch operates entirely client-side. We do NOT collect, transmit, store, sell, or monetize any of your personal data, credentials, browsing logs, or downloaded content.
1. Chrome Web Store Policy Compliance
In full accordance with the Google Chrome Web Store User Data & Privacy Policies, this policy explicitly details what data is touched, how permissions are utilized, and why each permission is essential to provide the advertised features.
2. Information Collection and Handling
DouyinFetch does NOT collect or process:
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII): Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords.
- Authentication Credentials: We do not intercept or record Douyin account login cookies, tokens, or security hashes.
- Browsing Activity: We do not log which pages you visit or transmit history records outside your local device.
- Financial or Health Data: No financial or sensitive information is ever queried.
3. Permission Declarations & Justifications
The extension requests only the minimum set of permissions necessary to function. Below is an exhaustive breakdown of why each permission is required:
| Permission | Purpose & Justification |
|---|---|
sidePanel |
Renders the extension interface in Chrome's native Side Panel, providing an ergonomic split-screen view beside Douyin. |
tabs |
Allows detecting current active tab URL to recognize Douyin profile or video pages automatically. |
activeTab |
Grants temporary access to the active Douyin tab when the user clicks the extension toolbar button. |
scripting |
Executes client-side bridge scripts inside the Douyin web tab to extract publicly accessible video and photo URLs. |
downloads |
Saves downloaded MP4 videos, full-resolution images, and exported CSV spreadsheets directly into the user's Downloads directory. |
storage |
Stores user-defined application preferences (e.g. language selection, file naming format) strictly in local browser storage (chrome.storage.local). |
host_permissions (*://*.douyin.com/*) |
Permits interaction with Douyin's web APIs and media CDN endpoints to retrieve high-definition streaming media links. |
4. Data Storage and Local Processing
All operations performed by DouyinFetch (including scanning post pagination, resolving video URLs, downloading image carousels, and generating CSV reports) are executed entirely locally inside your browser memory.
Any user configuration preferences (such as selected language and download folder paths) are stored solely within your local browser storage using chrome.storage.local and never leave your machine.
5. Third-Party Services and Analytics
DouyinFetch does NOT integrate with:
- Third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or Mixpanel).
- Remote advertising networks.
- External data brokers or remote caching servers.
6. Intellectual Property & Disclaimer
DouyinFetch is an independent third-party tool and is NOT officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ByteDance Ltd., Douyin, or TikTok. Users are solely responsible for ensuring their use of downloaded media complies with relevant copyright laws, terms of service, and original creators' intellectual property rights.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect technological changes or regulatory updates. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp.
